Employment...
At present Linda is Vice-Principal, Director of the Centre for Excellence in Teaching and Learning and holds a Personal Chair at the Royal Northern College of Music, Manchester, UK.
Additional Employment
As well as her post at the Royal Northern College of Music, Linda works as a freelance professional clarinettist, regularly performing and teaching at institutions across the UK, mainland Europe, America, Asia and Australia (more information on this in the Performance section). She is also the UK representative for Howarth Clarinets.
Lecturing
Linda has delivered masterclasses, lecture recitals and research papers at a significant number of institutions in the UK, including most of the major music conservatoires and larger university music departments, as well as at the Institute of Musical Research, London University
Overseas, Linda has given performances and masterclasses at prestigious institutions including: Beijing Conservatory; University of California, Los Angeles; College-Conservatory, Cincinnati; Eastman School of Music, Rochester, N.Y.; Florida State University; Geidai Institute, Tokyo; University of Illinois; Indiana University; Northwestern State University, Louisiana; Conservatoire de Quebec; Queensland Conservatorium, Brisbane and the University of St. Thomas, Minnesota.
Conference Participation
Linda is a regular contributor to national and international conferences, including the Mid-West Conference, Chicago (concerto performance); Sonic Arts Network (electronics performance in Belfast); ICA International ClarinetFests (electronics performances in Belgium and Stockholm); WASBE (concertos in Lucerne and Cincinnati).
